Yeah, we’re down.

November 4th, 2011

Warning: the following scene contains real parents using airquotes, and may be disturbing to younger readers.

“Where’s he headed off to?”

“He’s hanging out with some buddies from school.”

“Going to “kick it” with his dudes, huh?

“Honey, “kicking it” isn’t a thing anymore.”

“It’s not?”

“What’s the thing now?”

“Don’t ask me. I just found out about “scene” and I’m told that’s already not a thing.

“What’s scene?”

“Some kind of subgenus of emo.”

“Is emo still a thing?”

“Probably not.”

“Is saying “a thing” still a thing?”

“Not if you and I are saying it.”

When I am trying to relate some story or news item to my sons, I’ll say “this isn’t very ‘PC’ …..

my sons – “Moooom who says ‘PC’ anymore???????”

So apparently I’m not even ‘PC’ when I’m trying to be ‘PC’ !!??!! :/

ps. Just got your book for my birthday Kyran, (from myself!) and am looking forward to it!
