I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
Two follow-ups to my post about the fun “boot shoot” I did with some local blogging friends earlier this month:
- Big congratulations to Lisa, a.k.a. “Commenter No. 11,” on winning a $150 gift card from Country Outfitter. The response to the giveaway was great, and it was big fun to share something I really love.
- The photos are ready, and they say so much that is good about this overlapping virtual and geographical neighborhood of mine, I have to share my favorites.
My boots are the light ones in the middle. Patrick picked them out for me, because I was overwhelmed by all the choices. These are the Women’s Bone Deertanned Cow Boot by Justin, and they are gorgeous. I am completely willing to sacrifice comfort in the name of foot fashion, but these are actually very comfortable. I don’t know why this came as a surprise, given that they are genuine working cowboy boots, but it did. Turns out these boots really are made for walking.
Most of us received our boots at the Arkansas Women Bloggers conference last month. Someone decided it would be nice to show our appreciation for the other conference sponsors as well. If it may be said without sounding ungrateful, their gifts were not quite as photogenic. We did our best. That’s a bottle of Mrs. Meyer’s countertop spray I’m holding. I fought for that prop, because I really do like and use Mrs. Meyer’s. And because I didn’t realize that local bacon from Petit Jean Meats was also in the props basket.
Have your PR people email our people. Just be aware that you may not be entirely in control of the message.
I’m not sure we’re entirely in control of the message.
Unless the message is DOIN THE MOST.

It was a beautiful day in our neighborhood. Thanks, Country Outfitter (and Stephanie McCratic, social media director) for giving us an excuse to get out and enjoy it, and Whitney Loibner Photography for capturing all the ridiculous fun. Hope we get to “work” together again real soon.
