Finn the Human, Mom the Knitter. Another DIY Halloween.

DIY Halloween video report

October is that old friend who sweeps into town once a year, ready for a good time. Loads of fun, but exhausting and expensive. I’m so glad it’s gone.

Yesterday was frantic, as I scrambled to get everyone ready for trick-or-treating. It’s hard to imagine any theater opening night is less a production than Halloween. I was missing my blog, though, so I turned on my laptop camera, and recorded a little v-log (published below), thinking I could quickly edit and post it before things swung into high gear.

This is the same thinking that had me agreeing to knit my middle child a hat for his Finn the Human costume. The same child for whom I have constructed a costume requiring scaffolding.

The words, “How hard can it be?” may well be my last someday.

I hope your Halloween was as exciting or as laid-back as you wanted it to be. Here’s to a very quiet and dull November.

I like how you called it a v-log. Like the telly-phone. Perhaps you need to call this your b-log. Or your Web Log.

And I want you to add subtitles or little text comments to my entire life. It would be SO MUCH FUNNIER.

Heehee! I also experienced that last minute scramble and sew-on. The “scary skeleton” she had been talking about for weeks turned into me taking time off from my scary-due-at-midnight project and sew-tacking felt bones onto backing and pinning them to her leggings. While she was wearing them, of course. It was worth it. I’m very impressed that you knitted that whole head!
